Transcription is the best way to convert your recorded audio and video files into highly accurate, searchable and readable text. Online transcription services like Rev allow you to use your voice, rather than your fingers, to capture interviews, ideas, and meetings without having to manually transcribe the files yourself.
Rev offers 5 simple ways to upload your audio and video files when ordering transcription services.
1. Secure Direct Upload
You can upload audio and video files on Rev.com via secure direct upload, simply by clicking the upload file button and choosing a file from your computer. We handle almost all media formats including MP3, MP4, WMV, AIF, M4A, MOV, AVI, VOB, AMR, WMA, OGG, and WAV. If you have a file in a format other than those listed here, please contact us.
2. Cloud
You may upload audio and video files that are hosted on the cloud just by clicking ‘paste URL’, copying the URL of the file, and pasting it into the field. Please note that the link should be for the media file, not the page it is hosted on.
3. Automatic Upload
Thanks to Rev’s integration with Zapier, you may set your account up to automatically upload and transcribe files in your Dropbox, Vimeo, or other cloud-based apps. When your transcription is complete, we can automatically upload them back to your account in another app such as Dropbox or Basecamp.
4. API
You may request API access and integrate Rev’s functionality into your existing apps or work environments.
5. Smartphone App
You may use Rev’s Audio and Voice Recorder app, available for iPhone and Android, to record from your phone and upload straight to Rev for transcription.
