All right next up, Michael J. Fox, yesterday, the beloved actor was named on the Oscar’s list of honorary recipients for this year’s Governor’s Award. This fall, Fox will receive the Gene Hershalt Humanitarian Award for his advocacy work with Parkinson’s disease and research. The actor was diagnosed with the condition more than 30 years ago. He was 29 at the time. In a statement, the Academy praised Fox saying, “His quote, boundless optimism, exemplifies the impact of one person in changing the future for millions.” I like that. Fox will receive his Oscar alongside fellow honorary recipients filmmaker Euzhan Palcy, musician Diane Warren, and director Peter Weir. The Governor’s Awards are scheduled for November 19.
