A health scare tonight for Madonna.

Her manager posted on Instagram that she is under medical care after spending several days in the ICU. CBS2’s Lisa Rozner in our newsroom with the latest on this. Lisa.

Lisa Rozner (00:13):

Christine and Maurice, the good news is her manager says her health is improving and she is expected to make a full recovery. However, her concert tour, which was supposed to kick off next month, will be postponed for now.

You think people would come to that show?

Lisa Rozner (00:27):

Earlier this year, Madonna released this video, announcing she’d kick off a global tour July 15th in Vancouver, but that’s now on hold. Wednesday, her manager posted in part, “On Saturday, June 24th, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection, which led to a several-day stay at an intensive care unit.” He added, “Her health is improving, but she’s still under medical care.” Dr. Bruce Y. Lee did not treat Madonna, but explains how a bacterial infection could lead to being treated in the ICU.

Dr. Bruce Y Lee (00:57):

One is if they have a severe pneumonia. The other common reason is sepsis, which is when someone gets a bacterial infection of the bloodstream.

Lisa Rozner (01:05):

Days before the 64 year old became ill, on June 20th, the singer posted pics rehearsing on stage and wrote “The calm before the storm.” On Father’s Day, in a tribute to her dad, Silvio, she wrote, “You taught me how to be a survivor. Forever grateful, but also really tired.” Madonna’s manager says she’s expected to make a full recovery.

If you are actually physically in very good health and good shape, that is very favorable for you to have a complete recovery.
