This is the Broadway production with the most Tony Award nominations of the season, 11 for the musical A Strange Loop, which already won the Pulitzer Prize. It’s a musical about writing a musical and grappling with identity desire and ambition. Nominations were announced Monday morning by Adrienne Warren, who played Tina Turner, winning last season’s Tony for Best Lead Actress in a Musical. Her co-host for the announcement was three-time Tony-nominated star, Joshua Henry.

Not only are we coming back stronger than ever, but it’s the 75th Anniversary of the American Theater Wings Tony Awards.
