8 Microsoft CoPilot Alternatives
Check out Rev’s breakdown of the best Microsoft Copilot alternatives designed to streamline your workflow and boost productivity, including our new VoiceHub.
Chat-based AI assistants have quickly become a part of everyday life. Even if you don’t think you use an AI assistant…you use an AI assistant. Assuming you’ve ever said “Hey Siri,” “Hey Google,” or “Hey Alexa,” before, that is. And, of course, if you use Microsoft products there’s a good chance that you’ve interacted with at least the free version of Copilot, Microsoft’s AI-powered chatbot assistant.
Whether you use Microsoft Copilot as just a handy enhancement of your Microsoft products or as a full-blown chat-based AI companion to boost team productivity, there are Copilot alternatives you should consider. While many chat-based assistants are built for more specific functions than as all-encompassing assistants, that function might be exactly what you’re looking for.
Here are a few of our favorite Copilot alternatives.
1. Claude
Claude is one of the better Copilot competitors because it’s great in an area that MS Copilot lacks: handling long, complicated requests. Claude is as close to talking to a real human as you can get, as it understands human-speech imperfections, idioms, and slang arguably even better than Copilot.
Claude’s ability to offer long-form drafts of press releases, essays, and even creative writing sets it apart from other Copilot alternatives. Claude can produce a day’s worth of writing almost instantly. The only drawback to Claude is that it doesn’t access the internet in real time, so its replies might not include the most up-to-date information.
Avg. G2.com rating: 4.7 out of 5
Price: Plans start at $20/month, with a free version available
Best Feature: Human language comprehension is unrivaled
2. VoiceHub
VoiceHub, Rev’s new productivity platform, is designed to capture, transcribe, and analyze speech with stunning accuracy. But it also acts as a comprehensive AI assistant designed to streamline your workflow and save you time. VoiceHub’s Notetaker feature will attend meetings for you and provide accurate, comprehensive notes, summaries, highlights, and insights as if you were in the room the whole time. Now that’s an assistant!
Voicehub offers a suite of other AI-powered features, including an AI template builder that creates custom guides for extracting specific information from transcripts, such as quotes, summaries, meeting minutes, and key points. VoiceHub’s AI transcript assistant also provides intelligent suggestions and assistance throughout the transcription process. For example, it can help identify speakers, suggest corrections, and even answer questions about the content of the transcript. And perhaps most importantly, it’ll do all this much more accurately than Microsoft Copilot’s ASR can.
Avg. G2.com rating: Too new to be rated! (Love VoiceHub? Give us a review!)
Price: Plans starting at $9.99/month with a free option available
Best Feature: VoiceHub Notetaker can take your place in meetings, freeing up valuable time
3. ChatGPT
By now, ChatGPT is almost as pervasive as Siri, and is usually used for more complex tasks. For those who aren’t up to speed, ChatGPT is a highly conversational AI chatbot that not only answers any question you throw at it, it’ll ask for clarity, ask follow-up questions, tell you you’re wrong, and essentially do everything a human would do in its situation. It can also code, write a press release, and even tell you a story. Its generative AI is much more accomplished than the one used by Copilot, so it can do most of the same tasks, but better.
ChatGPT streamlines your workflow by literally doing the work of a human assistant mimicked by Copilot, only instantaneously and with far more knowledge at its virtual fingertips. The major complaint about Chat GPT is that with access to the entire internet, it doesn’t always produce the most accurate answers.
Avg. G2.com rating: 4.7 out of 5
Price: $20/month, with a pretty robust free version available
Best Feature: Mimics human conversation exceedingly well
4. IBM Watsonx Assistant
Formerly known as Watson Assistant, IBM Watsonx Assistant is an AI chat platform built specifically to help a brand’s customers find consistent and accurate answers quickly using any platform or app. WatsonX learns its users’ tendencies and remembers conversations, which allows it to adapt quickly to a user’s needs, a common critique of Copilot.
IBM WatsonX Assistant is a preferred AI for automated chatbot developers because it’s easy to use and automatically understands complex conversations. It’s a great feature but is also why Watsonx is mostly an enterprise solution.
Avg. G2.com rating: 4.4 out of 5
Price: Plans starting at $140/month
Best Feature: Ability to understand complex questions
5. Yuma AI
Yuma AI is another of the Copilot alternatives that is primarily used for customer-facing chatbot solutions. Yuma AI is designed to fully automate customer support for e-commerce businesses, whereas Copilot is largely for personal use.
Yuma AI’s customer support chatbot easily integrates with other customer support platforms like Zendesk and Kustomer, offering customers fast resolutions to nearly any query. Yuma can manage high volumes of inquiries across multiple channels, doing the work of an entire customer service department. It’s not cheap, but when compared to the cost of human counterparts, it might be a steal.
Avg. G2.com rating: 4.8 out of 5
Price: Plans starting at $350/month
Best Feature: Easy integration into most customer service platforms
6. ClickUp
ClickUp is billed as “one app to replace them all,” and it certainly lives up to its billing as an AI-powered project management and collaboration tool. It’s like an AI assistant for your whole team.
With its intuitive interface, ClickUp lets you manage projects of all complexities with ease. But what makes it really stand out above other Microsoft Copilot alternatives is its ability to generate content. Its AI Writer tool can create anything you need for content, from idea generation to draft outlines to finished content. ClickUp won’t just manage the project; it’ll do the project. All you have to do is query its conversational AI, and it’ll quickly create what you need.
It’s important to note that some vital features like ClickUp Brain, require an additional fee on top of the monthly subscription, though.
Avg. G2.com rating: 4.7 out of 5
Price: Plans starting at $7/month per user
Best Feature: Easy-to-use interface
7. Simplified
If you or your team creates a lot of content, you might want to consider Simplified as a free Copilot alternative. Simplified’s claim to fame is its vast library of templates for everything from writing projects to page layout and video creation. If you need a variety of creative assets that are brand consistent across all platforms, Simplified can do a lot of the heavy lifting.
While Simplified does offer paid subscriptions, its free version feels like a real tool, as opposed to other free versions of Copilot and the like, which often feel like stripped-down trial versions. The only real complaint with Simplified is that the sheer volume of tools available can be overwhelming.
Avg. G2.com rating: 4.6 out of 5
Price: Free, with paid plans starting at $9/month
Best Feature: Vast template library
8. GitHub Copilot
For developers, GitHub Copilot is an essential tool, regardless of whether Microsoft Copilot is in the mix. GitHub Copilot’s AI was built to understand code, whereas Microsoft Copilot can write code but isn’t great at it. Sometimes it seems like Github understands code better than the developer, making it a perfect AI assistant to replace Microsoft Copilot for developers.
It demonstrates this by anticipating the next line of query and auto-generating it as you type, offering solutions to questions you never even knew you had. Better yet, it learns its user’s style and tendencies for even more accurate responses.
One G2 reviewer called it “A developer buddy for developers,” and if there’s a better way to describe the perfect AI assistant, we can’t think of one.
Avg. G2.com rating: 4.5 out of 5
Price: Plans starting at $4/month per user
Best Feature: Predictive text queries learn the user’s tendencies
Is There Anything Better Than Copilot?
Rev’s VoiceHub productivity platform, in our opinion, is a better AI-based assistant than Microsoft Copilot for a few reasons, such as our Notetaker, AI template builder, and our best-in-the-business automated voice recognition for transcribing every conceivable audio and video meeting.
Video Conferencing Features You Need
Since video conferencing is a primary part of most jobs (and lives) these days, a good AI assistant must be able to accurately understand human speech for everything from note-taking to meeting transcription.
When it comes to automated voice recognition, our VoiceHub platform is proven to stand digital head and shoulders above the crowd. A recent study compared the accuracy of ASR between Rev and Otter, Rev and Trint, and most of the other top ASR services, and we came out on top as one of the best transcription softwares by a healthy margin in many categories.
While accuracy is paramount, other things to look for in a video conferencing app include:
- Automatic transcription
- Robust chat features
- Integration with other primary apps and services
- AI notes and summaries
If your video conferencing app doesn’t inherently offer these features, using a service that can add them (or does them better than your Zoom or Teams apps), is paramount to your productivity. VoiceHub easily integrates with all of the top video conferencing apps to provide these services and more.
VoiceHub is Your Productivity Tool
While Microsoft CoPilot has become a pervasive AI assistant simply because it comes pre-installed on most Windows computers, it’s far from the be-all and end-all AI helper. We’ve just scratched the surface of Microsoft Copilot alternatives here, but those listed above are the best or most common for a variety of job types.
No matter what kind of job you do, though, Rev VoiceHub extracts critical details from your conversations while keeping your data secure, freeing you from the grind of manual tasks and empowering you to drive your work forward with confidence.
