Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, issued an apology for his use of brown face makeup at an “Arabian nights” theme party in 2001. Trudeau dressed up as Aladdin at the party and was pictures in brown face makeup. Read the full transcript of his apology to the press.

Justin Trudeau:             00:00                In 2001, when I was a teacher out in Vancouver, I attended an end of year gala where the theme was Arabian nights, and I dressed up in an Aladdin costume and put makeup on. I shouldn’t have done that. I should’ve known better, but I didn’t and I’m really sorry.
